Pablo Poggi Named Research Assistant Professor of Physics & Astronomy

CQuIC is pleased to welcome Dr. Pablo Poggi as Research Assistant Professor of Physics & Astronomy. In January, 2018, Pablo began work at CQuIC as a Postdoctoral Fellow on the NSF funded Focused Research Hub in Theoretical Physics (FRHTP) project. Effective November 1, 2020, Pablo continues work at CQuIC as a Research Assistant Professor to take new responsibilities as an investigator. He will lead teams studying quantum simulation, control, dynamical complexity, and quantum chaos as part of the DOE NQI Center "Quantum Systems Accelerator” (QSA), as well as other sponsored projects. Dr. Poggi will also work within CQuIC to head new initiatives and administration of its core activities.
Dr. Poggi has a PhD from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, specializing in Physics. He was named the honored recipient of the 2019 Juan José Giambiagi Award for the best Theoretical Thesis by the Physics Association of Argentina to the thesis entitled “Coherent control of quantum systems.” Dr. Poggi's education, experience, and knowledge expand the breadth of CQuIC.
