UNM Newsroom - SQuInT 2022

December 13, 2022

For the first time since 2020, the Southwest Quantum Information & Technology (SQuInT) annual workshop was able to meet in person at Berkeley, Calif. The three-day event held recently was co-hosted by the Center for Quantum Information and Control (CQuIC) at The University of New Mexico and the Challenge Institute for Quantum Computation (CIQC) led by UC Berkeley.

The workshop brought around 288 researchers to Berkeley, from various universities, national laboratories, and industrial companies across the country and the world. Out of those in attendance, 25 were UNM graduate students.

Throughout the schedule of events, UNM had a substantial number of representations. Out of the 45 talks during the session, two were headed by UNM-affiliated researchers. One was Research Professor Pablo Poggi and the other was graduate student Austin Daniel. The poster session also included 13 posters presented by UNM researchers and student researchers out of the 99 total posters.
