Please join us in welcoming Rafael Alexander to CQuIC as a Postdoctoral Fellow. Raf comes to us from the University of Sydney, where he recently completed his PhD under the supervision of Nicolas Menicucci and Stephen Bartlett. Raf’s PhD research focused on exploring the requirements for fault-tolerant continuous-variable quantum computation; he spent the first part of 2017 as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Virginia working with Olivier Pfister on implementing CV quantum computation. Raf started at CQuIC on August 15, 2017. He is interested both in continuing his previous research work and in expanding his research skills and portfolio. He is looking forward to experiencing the Balloon Fiesta for the first time and visiting Santa Fe and Ojo Caliente in northern New Mexico.
